Suggested Activities
for LDS Youth Groups with Aaronic Priesthood holders.

The following activities may be used to fulfill some of the Physical Development requirements for Deacons, Teachers, and Priests to receive the Duty to God award.  These can be done during a stay at the Reid Ranch.

These suggested goals are taken from the Fulfilling Our Duty to God pamphlets for the Aaronic Priesthood Deacons, Teachers and Priests (page 19 of each pamphlet).

Deacons:

• Run 2 kilometers or 1 1/4 miles, and set a goal for steady improvement.
• Learn to float on your back in the water for at least 2 minutes.
• Learn how to rescue someone who is drowning.
• Hike 10 kilometers or 6 miles in 1 day.
• Learn a new game or sport.

Teachers:

• Run 5 kilometers or 3 miles in 30 minutes or less.
• Demonstrate lifesaving skills in the water.
• Hike 15 kilometers or 9 miles with a pack in 1 day.
• Learn to play or officiate a sport of your choice.

Priests:

• Run 10 kilometers or 6 miles in 60 minutes or less.
• Hike 25 kilometers or 15 miles with a pack in 2 days or less.
• Learn to play or officiate for a sport.
• Teach the rules of a sport to another family or quorum member.
